Dental Director selected for United Community Health Center

book driveUnited Community Health Center is pleased to introduce Miguel Munilla,DDS as the newly appointed Dentist and Dental Director of the United Community Health Center Dental Clinic scheduled to open in July 2009.

Dr. Munilla graduated from the Virginia Common Wealth University, School of Dentistry in May. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology and minors in chemistry and Spanish at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, graduating cum laude.

Dr. Munilla has completed several community health clinic preceptorships throughout the Virginia Community Health Center system. He has also participated in Missions of Mercy Projects; dental mission trips to underserved areas of Virginia providing all aspects of emergency dental care. He has been involved in Habitat for Humanity as a member of the Delta Sigma Delta Service Fraternity.

“We are extremely pleased that Dr. Munilla will be joining United Community Health Center as Dental Director,” explains Renea Seagren, CEO. “His sincere interest in providing public health dental services in a community health center setting along with his enthusiasm for treating children were key qualities in our choice of Dr. Munilla for this position. We look forward to creating access to a dental home for the Medicaid, uninsured and underinsured residents of our service area. It is very fortunate for our community to have another bilingual provider join us to serve the healthcare needs of the residents of Buena Vista and Sac counties.”
