Community Health Centers serve many populations, including the uninsured and underserved, and provide access to affordable, accessable health care. According to the National Association of Community Health Centers, over 20 million people are currently served by Community Health Centers, of which 7.2 million are uninsured, and more than half of the patients live in rural areas, some of whom have insurance, but do not have access to local health services, and the other half of patients tends to live in economically depressed inner city communities.
